Favias are a type of stony coral in the Mussidae family. They are found in the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean. They are the perfect beginner coral to start your off your reef aquarium. 
 
Although favia are relatively easy to maintain, they can be an aggressive coral species. It is important not to keep them next to Acan Lords, Frogspawn, or Elegance Corals.
